چکیده

In this study, the facile and sustainable synthesis of highly microporous carbons is explored to reduce extensive use harsh activating agents solvents. The role potassium citrate (PC) as a greener agent in addition conventional ZnCl2 investigated mechanochemical solvent-free preparation carbon materials from chestnut tannin (CT), biomass-type precursor. A small amount chemical activator coupled with CO2 activation at 700 °C afforded higher specific surface area (1256 m2 g−1) larger micropore volume (0.54 cm3 compared activated both PC ZnCl2. high microporosity PC-activated materials, significantly enlarged after 0.16 0.54 g−1, makes them favorable for adsorption, evidenced by adsorption capacity 3.55 mmol g−1 ambient conditions (25 °C, 1 bar). This study shows that processing presence promising method obtaining materials.

Deformation of Microporous Carbons during N2, Ar, and CO2 Adsorption: Insight from the Density Functional Theory.

Using the nonlocal density functional theory, we investigate adsorption of N2 (77 K), Ar (77 K), and CO2 (273 K) and respective adsorption-induced deformation of microporous carbons. We show that the smallest micropores comparable in size and even smaller than the nominal molecular diameter of the adsorbate contribute significantly to the development of the adsorption stress. While pores of app...

Characterization of Activated Carbons from Oil-Palm Shell by CO2 Activation with No Holding Carbonization Temperature

Activated carbons can be produced from different precursors, including coals of different ranks, and lignocellulosic materials, by physical or chemical activation processes. The objective of this paper is to characterize oil-palm shells, as a biomass byproduct from palm-oil mills which were converted into activated carbons by nitrogen pyrolysis followed by CO2 activation. The effects of no hold...

Solvent-free copper-catalyzed azide-alkyne cycloaddition under mechanochemical activation.

The ball-mill-based mechanochemical activation of metallic copper powder facilitates solvent-free alkyne-azide click reactions (CuAAC). All parameters that affect reaction rate (i.e., milling time, revolutions/min, size and milling ball number) have been optimized. This new, efficient, facile and eco-friendly procedure has been tested on a number of different substrates and in all cases afforde...

CO2 adsorption by activated templated carbons.

Highly porous carbons have been prepared by the chemical activation of two mesoporous carbons obtained by using hexagonal- (SBA-15) and cubic (KIT-6)-ordered mesostructured silica as hard templates. These materials were investigated as sorbents for CO(2) capture. The activation process was carried out with KOH at different temperatures in the 600-800°C range. Textural characterization of these ...

Adsorption-induced deformation of microporous carbons: pore size distribution effect.

We present a thermodynamic model of adsorption-induced deformation of microporous carbons. The model represents the carbon structure as a macroscopically isotropic disordered three-dimensional medium composed of stacks of slit-shaped pores of different sizes embedded in an incompressible amorphous matrix. Adsorption stress in pores is calculated by means of Monte Carlo simulations. The proposed...
